Food is donated by supermarkets, companies, individuals, churches and other organizations. It is sorted and stored ready for distribution to those in need. The Food Bank works in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies, which come into contact with people in crisis, through the course of their work.

If required, Partners issue a voucher to a client, which the client brings to the Foodbank Centre and exchanges it for a week's worth of food. As the client waits for their food to be packed, they will be offered a cup of tea or coffee and the opportunity to talk to a worker about their situation. Where appropriate, the worker may signpost the client to agencies that can provide specialist support and assistance.
