The core part of the work of the Hillingdon Food bank is to serve all individuals and families in the borough of Hillingdon. To support and provide them with food supplies in their time of diffculty, crisis, emergency or dire need. The food supplies provided are for a short term period with a focus on Compassion, Integrity and Commitment to restore dignity, give hope and make a positive difference to those lives.

Hillingdon Foodbank was started within the context of the organizational vision for RCCG Kingsborough Family church, Uxbridge having researched the needs of people in the community and the borough of Hillingdon. The initiative was introduced to the Churches Together in Uxbridge where it was embraced and supported. It was the first Foodbank in London when it was launched in 2009. Hillingdon Foodbank is part of the network of Food banks grown by the Trussell Trust, a Christian Charity committed to life changing sustainable community based projects in the UK and overseas.

Food is donated by supermarkets, companies, individuals, churches and other organizations. It is sorted and stored ready for distribution to those in need. The Food Bank works in partnership with voluntary and statutory agencies, which come into contact with people in crisis, through the course of their work. More…
